Memory as Material: Art and the Practice of Archiving by Mira Brunner
Archiving Workshop
History is how the past is used in the present to determine the future. In this workshop, Mira Brunner, archivist and artist, invites participants to explore ways in which the politics of memory can restrict, and, conversely, liberate expression. Through discussion and exercises we will explore their own relationship to history and memory, broadly and narrowly defined. We will explore artistic methodologies used to constitute and utilize archives and consider the politics and impact of how and what we choose to remember.
Please Note:
Participants are required to bring an item related to their personal history to this workshop .
